Some things about being a parent that I didn’t expect:

  • The immediate ferocity of motherhood.
  • How little I cook.
  • How much fun playgrounds can be.
  • How much Baguette loves me.

  1. Ditto! I am also surprised by how much better I understand my own parents now that I am a parent. My teenage self would never believe it.

    1. I probably should have added how much more tolerant I am of other people’s parenting decisions, because now I really know how hard this is, even when it’s easy.
