Headaches

Monday I had a headache. One of those grinding, relentless headaches that refused to succumb to OTC medications, water, or much of anything.

Wednesday I stayed home with a migraine. Even after it receded, I felt groggy.

Thursday I continued to feel groggy for much of the day, with a headache that came and went on a whim of its own.

And on top of that, Baguette’s school still thinks she’s insufficiently interactive. Or something. We watch her in all kinds of settings, and we still think the main question here is the size of the group.

So I haven’t posted much this week. But here’s to the weekend–may it be headache-free for all of us!

  1. I hope you feel better. Since my brain surgery in 1995 I have non-stop migraines due to weather, mostly rain. It it crazy awful to have multiple migraines during the week. I hope you can shake the pain!

    1. I have a sinus condition that is triggered by weather, but migraines are rare for me. You have my sympathy!

  2. I just read a book about introverts and extroverts and how much of our world (particularly our businesses and our schools) are so pro-extrovert. It’s a bad thing when kids need alone time, a bad thing when they would rather listen and not talk in front of class, a bad thing when they’d prefer writing down their ideas rather than just shooting them off in a group setting.

Who knows—I’m curious to see what your school says. I’m sure they have experience too and I wouldn’t discount their expertise either. But sometimes I think we value outspoken people over our quieter, deeper-thinkers at an unfair advantage.

    1. I think that’s exactly what’s happening here. Our first step will be to try to get her into one of the smaller classes after her next transition.
